i am hoping to get some luck here, i like your mac address changer application very much. Only 1 thing i find annoying. The space between the numbers, eg “00 11 22 33 44 55″ Could you plz replace the code for the standard mac address output as eg “00-11-22-33-44-55. Plz tell me what to do thx in advance.

Microsoft recommends not using underscore as a prefix. I think that when it is a matter of taste it is always better to stick with the standards or recommendations.

Warning: this code needs some tweaking if you start application from a network drive. If application is started over the network (\\myserver\test.exe) then GetProcessImageFileName returns something like \Device\…\myserver\test.exe, and QueryDosDevice won’t help.

Aah, thanks for this. I’d been using the LicenseManager way of checking for forever, but was frustrated when nested custom controls wouldn’t all report that it was in DesignTime.

That little devenv check is so stupidly nice!

Why haven’t you backported the app to VS2005?
And I agree that the BCG stuff should not have been added to the MFC but have been a separate DLL/LIB.

I agree that VAX can throw a lifesaver to us poor neglected C++/CLI developers.

We’ve had mixed results with VAX in our reasonably-large C++/CLI project. The main issue I hit is my habit of typing “this->” in order to see members quickly. Often VAX is flummoxed and offers no list. But..sometimes it comes through and does. I guess my message is YMMV.

Another caveat is that VAX releases though fairly frequent often have regressions so just be careful to keep the previous installer if your an eager-beaver-gotta-upgrade-asap like me.
